Day 35 Personal Hygiene in the Works

Day 35 - 6/20/08
Start - Medicine Bow National Forest
End - Rawlins, WYMileage
57 miles
We seem to recently be camping in some rather damp areas. Woke up with everything covered in a nice layer of dew, of course with some of it being frozen. Now my little pocketmail device has all of these lines on it- such is life. We rocked out this morning around 8am and put in some good miles. We had about 56 miles to reach Rawlins. The Medicine Bow Nat'l Forest is awesome. Full of aspens- and I do love aspens especially because there aren't too many around Georgia. We only got about 15 miles in the national forest and then started the "descent" through some ranch land. Descents never really seem to be descents, but rather puds - pointless ups and downs. But the scenery was rather nice. Then we had a 25 mile road section- not the most enjoyable. There was a good bit of road work going on, so there were a ton of huge trucks passing us every couple of minutes. We eventually made it to Rawlins and found a hotel room at the Econo Lodge. It's going to take a couple of showers to get the stench off, but such is life. We're doing laundry now and for dinner we found, yes......a BUFFET. They're not even going to know what hit them by the time we're done. I can't wait. Should be there in about 1.5 hours or so. Tomorrow we move on through the Great Basin-damn desert, I thought we were done with it. There aren't too many water sources, and no shade- standard desert stuff. That's the word on the street. The riding's going well and it feels good to be in Wyoming!
