Day 16 - Zero day in El Rito, NM with Jack and Viki

Day 16
zero day in El Rito, NM

After meeting Jack and Viki, we have decided to take the day off to
rest and get to know these incredible individuals. Additionally, it's
going to take a day for to properly fix my bicylce- but that's really just
and excuse to learn about life from these kind souls. We'll take off
tomorrow morning and progress towards Del Norte, CO.

Jack and Viki are both retired and are awesome. Viki made some amazing
blueberry scones this morning, accompanied with the best coffee of the
trip, made in Vallecitos, NM- entitled Zapatista Morning. Spectacular.
They both have a million ongoing projects and are very selfless with
their time and energy. I feel blessed to have encountered them. Jack is
an engineer at heart and has done some amazing projects at their house.
Their new bathroom is truly impressive. Jack made looms for a good
while, and they are simply timeless- words can't really describe it
accurately. Viki is an amazing artist and weaver. I could only hope to have an
ounce of the artistic ability and talent present between these two
individuals.

The day will bring some bike repair, laundry, shower, food- basically
everything some bike vagrants need.
